A three-phase winding arrangement in which the three windings form a closed triangle, with no neutral point. Delta primaries are common on distribution transformers: the closed delta provides a path in which triplen (third-harmonic) currents can circulate, and depending on system grounding it can keep zero-sequence currents from passing upstream.
