Insulation Class (Thermal Class)

A temperature rating assigned to an insulation system (e.g., 105 C, 120 C, 220 C classes) defining the maximum temperature it can endure for normal life expectancy. Dry-type transformers commonly use 220 C systems with 150 C rise.
